We are Tanzanian Non-Governmental Organization that was established and registered as an NGO on 2021 in the Ministry of Community Development, Gender, Women, and Special Groups (MoCDGWS) in accordance with the Non-Governmental Organizations Act of 2002 as amended in 2019.

Our core beneficiaries
Tanzanite Support Organization offers essential life skills to Tanzanian youths starting at the age of 15 years old.
Our presence
Tanzanite Support Organization (TSO) is now working to serve youths in the Dar es Salaam region, with a focus on the Districts of Kinondoni, Kigamboni, Temeke and Ilala. Growth of geographical focus will occur as a result of implementation outcomes, prioritization of needs with significant national impact. Relevant areas with high prevalence and an urgent need to respond to emerging necessities related to Tanzanite Support Organization (TSO) thematic areas of focus.
Our Impact
Since its establishment, TSO has been innovating, initiating programs, projects and events, with the active engagement of the government, like minded development stakeholders within the community in supporting youths to achieve high self-esteem leading to achieve self-reliance which has accomplished the following:
- Provided the necessities for survival, including nutritional meals and comfortable bedclothes to 76 orphanage children impacting 33 orphanage youth living in three orphanage homes in Kinondoni District, Dar es Salaam.
2. Empowered direct 23 youths living under difficult conditions including those with disabilities, living in orphanage homes with life skills through achieving self-reliance program which enabled them to acquire decent jobs up to date. This is from our key stakeholders as a result of diligent follow-up, mentorships, enabling them to become self-reliant.
3. TSO hosted an Open House Event, which was successfully organized with the assistance of important stakeholders and attracted the participation of 19 businesses, 2 orphanage homes, local government officials, the Senegal Consulate, and 6 non-profit organizations, successfully promoted collaboration and engagement with like-minded stakeholders.
4. TSO celebrated its first Annual Gala Dinner, a remarkable triumph that drew in 159 attendees, comprising philanthropists, government representatives, and corporate leaders. The event showcased auctions, entertainment, testimonials, speeches, a TSO documentary, and organizational highlights, creating a vibrant atmosphere that fostered a strong sense of community and commitment among participants. The benefits of this event extend beyond its success metrics, as it served to strengthen relationships, build a supportive community network, and enhance TSO’s visibility, thereby contributing to the organization’s overall mission and objectives.
5. TSO partnered with Global Peace Foundation, Darasa Tech, and Mo Dewji Foundation in commemorating International Women’s Day 2023, emphasizing the significance of the inclusion women with disabilities through a series of events:

- Conducted a session for 30 deaf women and male champions at Mwananyamala FUWAVITA headquarters to develop peace-building skills in the workplace and community.
- Provided Digital Marketing skills to 25 deaf women at Darasa Tech’s Kigamboni headquarters.
- Award Ceremony at Regency Park Hotel Mikocheni, recognizing outstanding women with disabilities in the community.

6. TSO participated in planting trees at Makumbusho Primary School in Dar es Salaam as part of the “Trees for Birthdays” campaign organized by the Embassy of the Netherlands in Tanzania and the Door for Hope Foundation.
7. TSO’s engagement in the ICCAO’s Girl Lead Conference Commemorating Girl Child Day, with the theme “Addressing Re-entry to Foster Girls’ Access to Quality Education,” allowed to contribute to discussions and initiatives to improve educational opportunities for girls.
8. Through strategic social media engagement, TSO achieved remarkable results, gathering a total of 8,638,624 impressions across all platforms. The engagement efforts led to 2,138 meaningful interactions, attracting an average of 125 profile visits per week. Impressively, the organization also expanded its online community, amassing a dedicated following of 62,031 followers across all platforms.

TSO is implementing its Strategic Plan for the years 2024-2028 with the goal to empower youths to acquire positive self-esteem, develop social-emotional skills, and gain economic empowerment skills to become self-reliant based on the following thematic areas:
